Q. How old do I have to be to set up a Fundraising page?
A. If you are under the age of 16, you must obtain your parent or guardian's written permission each time you create a fundraising page. This permission must be sent in to us before you open your page.

Q. When I went to set up a fundraising page, the web page I opened said 'everydayhero' as well as SMA Support UK. Why was that?
A. everydayhero is the organisation we use for this online fundraising service. We were offered their services free when we purchased our database. The only fees we pay are on card transactions. If we used any other platform for people to set up their online fundraising, we would be charged both card fees and a fee for the service.

Q. Will I be able to edit and update my page?
A. You can edit any of your fundraising pages at any time while they are live, or create a new one. You can update your blog, upload a new image or a video through YouTube. Just follow the simple steps. You can also check your donations against your fundraising page target. Your personal details such as a change of address or phone number relating to your fundraising page can also be updated at any time.

(To ensure optimum performance of the Everyday Hero site, they can only allow you to upload an image up to a file size of 3000k or 3 Megabytes.)

Q. How do I manage my account?
A. All of the information you need to know about your fundraising account can be found in the My Account section on our fundraising page. This includes your past and current fundraising pages and donations raised. Simply log in using the login name and password you created when joining.

Q. What forms of online payment does a fundraising page accept?
A. It can take online payments using credit and debit cards including VISA and Mastercard. Cards accepted can vary from country to country. People can see which cards are accepted at the point of donation.

It uses the latest industry encryption technology to protect people's credit card details during an online transaction. Their credit card will be charged straight away when they donate.

Q. Is it safe to use a credit card over the internet?
A. So that we can provide the best and safest way of people using their cards in a way that we can afford, we have chosen to use one of the market leading platforms for processing payments. This is called SagePay2.

When transacting via the Everyday Hero secure server, your credit card and personal details are encrypted using the latest industry standard SSL (Secure Socket Layer) 128 Bit encryption technology before being sent over the internet. Your credit card number is removed from their online server and is only stored on a separate secure server by the payment gateway provider.

Q. Can I collect cash or cheques as well as online donations?
A. Yes. People can donate directly online to your fundraising page or you can add what are called 'offline donations'. Follow your collection tin guidelines and collect up any cheques. If possible, please send the money raised offline to SMA Support UK via a bank transfer (you can find our bank details here) or send in a cheque or postal order to the office (address is on the bottom of our home page here).

We will confirm we have received the money and you may then update your page with the amount by logging in to your page, clicking 'add offline donations' on the right hand side and completing the details. Friends and family wishing to send donations directly to us may also do so. Just ask them to pop a note in with their donation stating that the funds should be added to your page and we'll inform you of the amount so that you can update your page.

Q. How do I transfer money from a 'Get out There for SMA' page to my Tribute Fund?
A. Once your event is over and you have collected all your donations, make a note of the total you have raised and close your 'Get out There' page. You then simply log in to your Tribute Fund page, click 'add offline donations' on the right hand side and complete the details of the amount and how it was raised.

Q. Can I thank people for their donations via my page?
A. Yes, you can do this by responding to the email which notifies you about a donation to your fundraising page. It's a great way to show how much you appreciate your donor's support.

Q. Can I cancel my fundraising page?
A. Yes. If you wish to cancel your fundraising page, contact us immediately and your page will be removed. If you have already received donations on your page, unfortunately these cannot normally be refunded. All donations made to your fundraising page are collected immediately and paid promptly to the charity.

Q. Does everydayhero use cookies?
A. everydayhero uses traffic log cookies to identify which pages are being used. This helps analyse data about web page traffic and improves the website in order to tailor it to customer needs. They only use this information for statistical analysis purposes and then the data is removed from the system.

Overall, cookies help everydayhero provide a better website, by enabling them to monitor which pages people find useful and which they do not. A cookie in no way gives them access to your computer or any information about you, other than the data you choose to share with them.
